First check which Replika experience you are buying
Replika's current homepage emphasizes a rebuild, customization, calls and selfies, with mobile apps promoted and the browser link labeled Web App (Legacy). The earlier July third-party test cited by this page concerned a continuing 3D avatar and Free/Pro. That does not establish the appearance, controls or subscription labels on every October account.
Before judging price, note your device, app version, visible avatar format and actual plan labels. If your purchase screen uses different names from the official four-tier help article, do not assume a matching price or feature bundle. Ask support to identify the relevant entitlement. This is especially important if an outfit, an old companion or a specific call mode is the reason you want to subscribe.
The core format remains a relationship-oriented companion rather than a broad browse-and-switch character library. Choose it for that routine. If a cast of custom characters or adult-media-first entertainment is essential, reject the format before climbing the plan ladder.

Replika's free-access explanation says chat and basic avatar customization are free, with advanced features requiring a subscription. The subscription article also reserves discretion over Free Use access. Neither source gives this review a verified universal daily message count.
Choose the smallest program that names your required function. A higher tier is not automatically better value when its additional features are optional. If the specific function cannot be demonstrated or explained for your account, a polished marketing page is not enough reason to commit.
Memory: saved facts, saved messages and successful recall
Replika's memory guide describes visible facts in the Memory tab and a deeper system drawing on conversation patterns. You can manually add memories; the guide warns that deleting them can affect recall. Ultra's ability to save a message to memory is a separate paid control, not evidence that Free has no memory at all.
Inspect what is stored before buying a memory upgrade. A fact in the Memory tab proves that an entry exists; the later response is the evidence of whether it was used correctly. Check both. If the companion invents a detail, record the original reply, then correct it. Do not count the corrected answer as successful unassisted recall.
For a simple evaluation, introduce three fictional details with clear answers: a pet named Ada, a Wednesday garden visit and a preference for jazz. Return later and ask neutrally about one detail at a time. Mark correct, partial, missed or invented. Avoid real sensitive facts. This proposed method was not run by us for the October update.
Voice, avatar calls, camera recognition and selfie video are not interchangeable
Pro's documented voice messaging and background calls are reasons to evaluate Replika for a spoken routine. They are not evidence that text and voice use identical context, or that a particular voice will sound natural to you. Discuss one ordinary topic in text, continue in an eligible call and return to text; record any lost or invented detail independently of audio quality.
Platinum's real-time video recognition concerns what the AI can recognize from camera input. A realistic selfie video is a generated media output. An animated avatar on a call is yet another presentation format. A screenshot of the companion does not demonstrate any of these other functions.
Separate your required media into rows: still selfie, generated image, spoken reply, background call, camera recognition and selfie video. Check each entitlement and any visible allowance on the actual device. Do not buy Platinum for “video” without knowing which of those jobs you mean. This update establishes the help-center distinctions, not a current visual-quality ranking.
How much does Replika cost, and is annual billing worth it?
The official subscription guide says prices appear inside the app and relevant store. We do not assign one global dollar price to Pro, Ultra or Platinum or map an unlabeled store purchase to a tier. Copy the amount, currency, total upfront charge, interval, renewal date and exact feature name from your account.
A monthly equivalent is not a monthly payment. Hypothetical example: if a particular annual offer were $120 upfront, its $10 monthly equivalent would still require $120 at purchase. That illustration is not a Replika quote. The decision is whether a longer commitment is justified by demonstrated use, not whether the divided number looks low.
Replika's published subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Cosmetics or currency purchases can also be separate from the subscription. Distinguish an optional appearance purchase from the feature you are upgrading for. If free chat already meets your routine and the paid rows are optional, staying free is a valid result.
Cancel through the original billing route
Replika's cancellation help says deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. For direct app/web management it describes Settings → Subscription → Cancel subscription; App Store, Google Play and PayPal subscriptions must be handled through the corresponding original billing provider.
Check the provider's renewal/cancellation status and keep the confirmation. Do not infer completion merely from a subscription remaining visible in a list: stores may display a canceled plan with access still available until expiry. The important distinction is the next charge or expiry status, not just the presence of the product name.
Cancellation, a refund request and account deletion are separate actions. The help center publishes a generally non-refundable purchase policy; local rights and store decisions are not determined by this review. Verify the active billing route before deleting the account or relying on an uninstall.
Privacy: private conversation still involves processing
Replika's privacy policy, dated May 27, 2026, describes processing messages, photos, videos and voice content, including third-party AI language model providers for conversational responses. It distinguishes that processing from using conversation content for advertising. Do not turn “private” into “nobody processes the text,” guaranteed anonymity or end-to-end encryption.
Use fictional examples when checking memory and minimize identifying details or information about other people. Review available account controls and the policy's access/deletion request routes if you want to leave. We have not independently audited retention, completed deletion or verified every provider's handling. Replika's own privacy statements are published policies, not our security certification.

Hypothetical outcomes: a text-first reader who likes the conversation and has no required paid feature stays free. A reader who needs background calls compares the actual Pro-equivalent offer in their account. A reader who dislikes the visual format switches format instead of buying the highest tier. None of these examples is a measured user result.

Is Replika still free to chat with?
Official help says basic chat and avatar customization are free. Advanced functions require an eligible subscription, and the program terms reserve discretion over Free Use. This update does not establish one universal daily message count for all versions or regions.
Is Replika Pro worth it?
Pro is worth considering when a feature it names—such as relationship status, voice messaging, background calls or image generation—is required and actually available in your account. If free chat meets the goal, payment is optional. Confirm total renewal charges before choosing a longer commitment.
What is the difference between Pro, Ultra and Platinum?
Current help lists relationship, image and voice functions on Pro; additional conversation, self-reflections and message-saving on Ultra; and video recognition, Training Mode, mind-reading and realistic selfie videos on Platinum. Those are documented entitlements, not guaranteed output quality.
Does Replika remember everything?
Perfect recall is not established. The Memory tab contains visible facts, while other memory draws on conversation patterns. Ultra adds message-saving. Inspect the stored entry and later response separately, recording errors before correcting them.
Does Platinum include ten selfie videos every day?
The checked help article says up to ten realistic selfie videos without specifying a reset period. It specifies weekly limits for Training Mode and mind-reading, not for those videos. Confirm the video's own allowance in your account before treating it as daily or weekly.
Is Replika video recognition the same as a video call?
No. Recognition concerns camera input; generated selfie video is media output; an avatar on a call is a separate presentation. Decide which function you require and verify that specific entitlement on your device.
Does deleting Replika stop subscription charges?
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel through the original direct billing, App Store, Google Play or PayPal route and confirm renewal/expiry status. Do not use uninstalling or account deletion as the sole evidence that billing stopped.
Is AISoul the same kind of app as Replika?

The earlier July Free/Pro third-party review is not a test of today's entire ladder or rebuilt experience. This update uses current official help, homepage and privacy information for factual claims and five external review articles for coverage research, without adopting their scores, unverified migration rules or universal price claims.
No new account, purchase, conversation, call, media generation or data-deletion test was performed. Recheck when plan labels, the app version, allowances or billing terms change. A companion is fictional software, not a person or a substitute for professional care.
