Map what Nomi exposes and what remains hidden
Nomi's visible map gives you a useful correction surface, not complete access to all stored state. The Identity Core explanation says users cannot directly view that core. The Mind Map explanation describes a higher-level overview alongside detailed memories, while Shared Notes supply user-written background.
For an incorrect entry, Nomi's correction guide supports editing and locking it to prevent automatic changes. It also explicitly says that changing a map does not change the memories from which it was built. Removing a contradictory citation, correcting the summary and checking a later answer are different actions; none proves complete erasure.
The October 2025 launch article estimates roughly 500-plus messages for an initial map. Do not promise a map on day 14 or recommend unnecessary message volume to force one. Existing memory can operate before an overview becomes visible.
The Candy sources reviewed here do not verify an equivalent editable map. That is not evidence of absent memory or a fixed 20-turn expiry. If a visible editor is mandatory, verify it before purchase. Nomi's voice guide includes real-time calls, messages and custom voices with a subscription. The optional ElevenLabs integration has a separate subscription; built-in and custom Nomi voices do not all require it. On either product, verify the specific format and allowance you want rather than paying for a generic “voice” checkbox.
Keep subscription time and add-on credits separate
Candy and Nomi both have recurring subscriptions and optional consumption beyond basic text. Record the full billing term and renewal first, then the media actions; unit counts cannot establish a dollar price without a verified purchase quote.
Candy's current public offers show $9.99 for the first month then $13.99/month, $26.97 prepaid for three months or $47.88 prepaid for a year. The $3.99 annual monthly equivalent is not a $3.99 month-to-month purchase. Applicable taxes and actual checkout still matter.
We did not verify a universally available current Nomi checkout price for this comparison. Use the subscription screen in your account and original purchase channel, not an old store product list or a comparison's assertion that one service is always cheaper. Optional Nomi credits and an optional external voice subscription can increase the bill; neither product is “everything forever for one flat fee.”
Hypothetical six-clip budget: six Nomi SD requests use 6 × 6 = 36 Nomi credits; six HD requests use 6 × 10 = 60. If the checked Candy five-second quote remains 12 tokens, six such requests use 6 × 12 = 72 Candy tokens. Resolution, duration, eligibility, output and currency differ. These calculations show the resource requirement only, not equivalent quality or a cross-product price winner. Other charged actions and retries reduce the remaining budget.
Keep base subscription, included resources, extra purchases, reset/expiry, external voice charges and next renewal in separate columns. If a pack's current dollar price is not verified, leave the dollar total uncalculated rather than inserting a typical-user average from affiliate coverage.

Add a harmless fictional boundary, such as “do not name our imaginary employer,” only if it serves your test. A missing map entry does not prove that no underlying memory exists, while a correct-looking map does not prove that the reply follows it. Keep those observations separate.
Use the allowance you actually have. Candy's five-message free start cannot fund a long longitudinal test, and neither service owes fourteen free days because this protocol uses that horizon. Choose a short no-renewal route only for a short job
