Choose a roleplay path, not a proxy tutorial

SpicyChat vs Janitor AI is a character-platform choice, not inherently a network-proxy problem. Both have hosted chat paths. The need for an external account arises only if you select an external-model route, and the provider's policies, limits and bill then become part of the decision.

Free, Janitor+ and Router are three different routes

Janitor's subscription FAQ describes standard free models with unlimited chats and a context limit of around 9K tokens. Janitor+ adds five times the context, priority access and monthly swipes with its best models. A larger context allowance is not a promise to permanently remember every earlier message, and monthly swipes should not be presented as unlimited access to every model. The July 30 Router announcement describes model switching, custom prompts, generation settings and a built-in wallet charged per token, without copying an outside API key. It launched for JLLM+ subscribers on web. That launch scope and its launch-credit offer are dated statements, not confirmation that every current mobile account has the same access or can claim a bonus today. The current Janitor+ price page returned a JavaScript shell during this check. We therefore do not turn third-party monthly/yearly price reports into a verified current checkout quote. Read the selected plan's actual charge, interval and Router rates in your account before paying. The official help remains useful even when that private quote is unavailable.

Memory, personas and Scripts require different evidence

SpicyChat's paid Memory Manager lets you add, edit, delete and pin entries within a conversation. Entries are limited to 250 characters; deletion does not rewrite messages already containing the information. True Supporter adds automatic Semantic Memory 2.0 entries. These are mechanisms for supplying relevant information, not a guarantee of perfect continuity. Memory Manager.

SpicyChat's September 21 support table lists 4,096 tokens for Free/Get A Taste and 8,192 for True Supporter. Its premium guide says I'm All In reaches up to 32K depending on the model, while support still lists 16,384 for that tier. Confirm the selected model's actual allowance; do not silently convert this official discrepancy into a universal 32K claim. Tier table, premium guide.

Janitor documents personas separately from bot definitions. Its August 2025 guide describes editing the main persona in Settings, creating additional personas and choosing one before opening a chat; it gives a maximum of 100. Janitor's Scripts guide describes lorebook keyword entries and advanced scripts. By default, either participant's message can trigger a lore entry; Depth 1 limits scanning to the most recent user message. Ordinary script information is injected for the current message, not automatically a permanent personality or memory change. Adult text permission does not mean adult image permission

Janitor's February 4 community guidelines permit adult content between consenting adult characters, subject to prohibited categories, and restrict users to 18+. The same guidelines prohibit pornographic/NSFW imagery. A permissive text contract therefore cannot be converted into a promise of generated adult pictures. SpicyChat documents Conversation Images for selected characters on True Supporter and all characters, including private creations, on I'm All In. Its image guide describes NSFW mode subject to community rules and warns about character/context mismatches. Top-tier TTS reads replies aloud; official September 29 support says there is no video generation. Conversation Images, video support.

Janitor's official iPhone release notes mention a Media Library for uploading/organising images and Scripts support. They do not establish fresh prompt-to-image/video generation or a live phone feature. We did not verify those current media/call capabilities, so they remain unconfirmed rather than being labelled universally absent. An app's age rating also does not override its content guidelines. Free queues, prices and the billing owner

SpicyChat's free queues appear during high demand; paid subscriptions remove the free queue and I'm All In adds response priority. That is a documented entitlement, not a measured claim that either product has better uptime. If a paid account still queues, support advises checking the current build and the account tier. From September 8, SpicyChat's USD monthly tiers are $5.95/$19.95/$29.95, with annual totals of $60/$199.95/$299.95 for Get A Taste/True Supporter/I'm All In. Active unchanged older recurring subscriptions can retain their prior price; plan/interval changes or expiry move to current pricing. Some payment methods are one-time, not renewing subscriptions. Janitor's web cancellation route is Settings / Billing / Manage Subscription, leading to Stripe; app purchases must be cancelled through the original App Store or Google Play. Paid access remains until period end, then returns to free. An external provider's charge or auto-top-up is not cancelled by cancelling Janitor+. Subscription FAQ. For a chosen month, budget platform charge + Router spend + outside-provider spend, counting only the routes actually used. Those last two are not automatically both required. Record the model, input/output rates, balance and any automatic funding before chatting. Without your actual quote and usage, a universal “Janitor costs $3–20/month” would be speculation.

Run the same short scene before switching

A useful comparison holds the character task constant and records the selected model, persona and billing route. The following 20-message check is a proposed method, not a test completed for this article.

1. Use an original fictional adult café owner with three harmless facts: opening day, preferred drink and a planned event. Choose the comparable setting on each platform and note the actual persona/model.

2. Correct one fact using the control available: a SpicyChat Memory Manager entry or the relevant Janitor persona/lore entry. Record exactly what changed; these are not identical operations.

3. Continue the scene within your available allowance, then ask an uncued callback followed by a cued one. Save the actual response, any queue and the available memory/entry evidence.

4. If using a metered model, check the wallet before and after. Stop repeated retries when you cannot confirm whether an action was charged, or when the spending limit is reached.

5. Keep the existing account until mandatory checks pass. A successful character-summary recreation is not imported history, hidden memory or purchases; verify both export and destination import before deleting anything.

A short test can reveal a concrete mismatch, but cannot establish month-long reliability or universally better prose. If your current character already works, staying on the free route can be the best decision.

AISoul is narrower than either roleplay platform

AISoul fits adults who want a selected preset fictional companion and ready photos/clips, rather than authoring scripts or choosing engines. Simpler setup is not proof of stronger memory or better writing.

AISoul free chat allows up to 50 messages per Beijing day and is also subject to a cumulative 36,000-unit talk allowance that does not refill tomorrow. Five clear photos reset daily; two clear clips are the account-lifetime allowance. Paid Passes remove published quantity caps during their validity, but a finite library can repeat media, use approximate matches or shared fallbacks. FAQ

Does Janitor AI require an external API key?

Not for its standard hosted chat. Its official FAQ describes a free standard route, and Router was introduced to access additional models without copying outside keys. Are both platforms free to chat on?

Both publish free text routes. Janitor describes standard chat with approximately 9K context; SpicyChat publishes free text with 4,096-token context and peak-load queues. Does more context mean permanent memory?

No. Context is information available for a response, not a promise that every old event remains accessible forever. SpicyChat's Memory Manager and Janitor's script/lore injection are separate mechanisms with their own conditions. Does adult text access include adult pictures?

Not automatically. Janitor's guidelines permit consenting-adult text subject to rules but prohibit NSFW imagery. SpicyChat documents a separate, tier-qualified Conversation Images feature with its own content and likeness limits. Uploaded images and generated images are also different. Does cancelling Janitor+ stop an outside provider's bill?

No such linked cancellation is documented. Cancel Janitor through its original web/store route, then separately check any outside-provider subscription, wallet or auto-funding. Router is a different platform wallet; verify any remaining balance and funding settings rather than assuming account deletion settles every charge. Sources and what remains untested

Official public Janitor help, Router, content and app-listing text were readable in this October 7 check; the price page was only a JavaScript shell. The earlier version's “all Janitor details unknown” is therefore no longer an accurate account of the evidence. Launch dates and older guide dates are retained, not relabelled as new releases.
